In 2016 my client was involved in a road accident in which a motorcyclist was killed. Police decided that my client was at fault because of the manner in which he drove his car on emerging from a car park. With the help of an accident reconstruction expert and other experts, I was able to introduce evidence that established the motorcyclist was significantly exceeding the speed limit and that when my client emerged from the car park the position of other vehicles on the road made it impossible for him to have seen the cyclist. The prosecution instructed a senior barrister to present its case, and I conducted my client’s two-day trial in court in the south-east. At its conclusion, the court ruled that my client was not at fault and that he could not have seen the motorcyclist. He was found not guilty.
